Winger Came Off the Bench To Score Twice in Milan's Comeback
Christian Pulisic delivered a sensational cameo performance on Monday, scoring twice within 10 minutes to inspire AC Milan's remarkable comeback from two goals down against Torino. The American winger's brace secured a dramatic 3-2 victory that lifted Milan back to the top of Serie A.
Entering as a substitute just after the hour mark at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, Pulisic made an immediate impact. Within 35 seconds of his introduction, he capitalized on a poorly cleared cross from Alexis Saelemaekers, taking a composed touch before finishing to level the match at 2-2. The goal was the fastest by a Milan substitute since 2008.
The 27-year-old wasn't finished. 13 minutes from time, Pulisic swept home a low cross from substitute Samuele Ricci to complete the turnaround and claim all three points. Despite playing only 24 minutes, he registered the joint-highest number of chances created, alongside his two clinical finishes, demonstrating his efficiency with shots on target.
Speaking afterward, Pulisic confirmed he had been ill two days prior but felt improved enough to contribute. His heroics extended Milan's unbeaten Serie A run to 13 matches under manager Massimiliano Allegri, their longest streak since the 2020-21 season. The victory proved crucial after weekend wins by Napoli and Inter had briefly dropped Milan to third place.
