Weah Rejects Move

Winger Won't Move to Nottingham Forest in England

Tim Weah's potential move to the Premier League has hit a roadblock after the United States international turned down Nottingham Forest's contract proposal, effectively ending the English club's pursuit of the Juventus winger.

Despite Nottingham Forest and Juventus reaching an agreement worth approximately €22 million for both Weah and teammate Samuel Mbangula, the 25-year-old American has opted to explore other opportunities rather than make the switch to the City Ground. The rejection represents a significant setback for Forest, who were looking to bolster their attacking options ahead of their historic return to European competition.

Weah's decision appears strategic, as sources indicate he prefers to wait for alternative destinations that may better align with his career ambitions. This comes at a time when Juventus are actively seeking to offload the winger to create space for new signings, making his departure from Turin increasingly likely despite having three years remaining on his current contract.

The American's time at Juventus has been respectable but not spectacular, contributing seven goals and six assists across 78 appearances since his €12.4 million transfer from Lille in 2023. Last season, he scored five Serie A goals in 30 matches, although many of those appearances came as a substitute, highlighting his struggle to secure a regular starting position.

Weah's rejection of the Forest move mirrors his previous decision to turn down a loan to Everton in January 2024, suggesting the player is selective about his next career step. With Juventus eager to facilitate his departure and the player seeking new challenges, it appears only a matter of time before another suitor emerges.
